Since qualifying in 1990, Helen has taught across a wide age range and with children of a broad spectrum of abilities.
Working with gifted and talented children, as well as those with special educational needs in mainstream schools, has enabled her to appreciate how challenging the classroom environment can be for such children.
Helen enjoys supporting students on a one to one or small group basis so that they can enjoy learning, gain confidence and experience success.
Through her positive and creative approach, she tailors her teaching to suit children’s learning needs and personality, thus enabling them to learn new skills and develop new concepts in a fun way.
Helen is a reflective practitioner and continues to broaden her understanding of children’s learning through study and research. Her particular interests are in the areas of Language development, Mathematics and Special Educational Needs.
“Helen worked with our daughter, Jessica, to get her from grade C level to get an A in her English GCSE. Jessica felt that Helen increased her confidence with expression and grammar and was always available for support either face to face or by email.” Alastair Bateman, Chichester
