French Tuition
Would your child benefit from one-to-one support with French?
The saying 'Une nouvelle langue est une nouvelle vie' translates literally as 'A new language is a new life'. However, its true sense encompasses how learning a new language such as French is about so much more than simply acquiring words, phrases and rules of grammar. In essence, learning 'la plus belle langue' can open up a world of opportunity for travel, culture, academic and career opportunities.
As the core aims of the ISEB CE 11+ French exam set out, learning a foreign language at a young age can promote openness, curiosity and discovery, as well as encouraging a sense of adventure and love of learning. If your child is learning French, they may also benefit from the knowledge, understanding and critical-thinking skills that learning a new language can offer,
Whether your child is preparing for a listening test, spoken assessment or reading or writing exam, one-to-one lessons can help them develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
At primary level, pupils will focus on learning vocabulary and simple grammatical structures linked to everyday life, such as greetings, family, school and animals.
Students taking higher level French GCSE exams will have developed a sophisticated vocabulary of around 1.700 words which they will apply when answering questions relation to 3 key themes: Identity and culture; Local, national, international and global areas of interest; and Current and future study and employment.
I have helped many students to achieve higher grades at Common Entrance, GCSE and A Level.
Lessons take place in the comfort of your own home and make use of the latest educational software to create both an interesting and effective learning experience.
Online lessons are also available via Teams or Google Meet.
Homework is an important part of the learning process, giving your child the opportunity to revise and consolidate new areas worked on in the face-to-face session.
